About Us

UAW Member Action (UMA) is an organization of active workers in the United Auto Workers. We are carrying on the transformation of the UAW from a union once weakened by concessions and corruption into one that’s mobilizing worker power and setting standards for the entire working class.

Many of our leaders led the fight for One Member, One Vote elections and helped elect new leaders like President Shawn Fain who have been steering our union back into the fight. Now, we are uniting member leaders from recent contract fights, strikes, and organizing drives to train the next generation and sustain this momentum.

We formed UMA out of the belief that building up more members into trained leaders and organizers is vital to keep our union moving forward. Our educational programs offer leadership and skill development taught by UAW members and open to all UAW members.
