Only UAW members in good standing are eligible to apply for membership. We reserve the right to exclude those who are opposed to UAW Member Action or its principles.

As an activist organization, UMA expects our members to take an active part in our organization and in our union. We hope you will attend and invite others to UMA events, connect with members of our network, and bring what you learn back to your local. UMA Members are also encouraged to attend our Annual National Meeting, where they are entitled to a vote in UMA decisions. 

Membership dues are $25.00 per year.

Your membership dues will be used to support our organization’s activities — from hosting online trainings to bringing members together for in-person classes and our Annual National Meeting.

Members will receive email updates about upcoming online trainings and in-person classes near you. Please contact an organizer if you are interested in:

• Hosting a class in your area

• Connecting with a mentor to strengthen your skills as a grievance handler

• Getting help from a UAW Member Action organizer to strengthen your local

UMA membership is kept confidential from employers and union officials.

Membership dues are not tax deductible. For a tax deductible contribution, please donate to our sister 501(c)(3) organization, UAW Member Education and Defense Fund.

Becoming a member of UAW Member Action allows you to have a voice in our network and vote in decisions regarding our direction as an organization.
