Members Gathered to Chart Our Course at the 2026 National Meeting
Last Sunday, June 14th, we were joined by 120 members for the first gathering of our national network in Detroit.
UAW Member Action (UMA) members heard highlights from our first year, discussed our Constitutional Convention priorities, and voted overwhelmingly to endorse Shawn Fain and the United UAW slate in this fall's elections. We also elected a new Steering Committee of members from across UAW regions and sectors — auto, agricultural, and defense manufacturing, as well as higher ed and retail.
At our dinner following the meeting, member leaders from the General Dynamics Electric Boat contract campaign and the recent new organizing victory at Volkswagen brought the house down. We were then joined by Region 1 Director LaShawn English and President Shawn Fain. Both have steered the UAW back into the fight over the last few years and received our endorsement for re-election.
