When Should Your Ballot Arrive? - 2026 UAW Elections
This year marks the second election where UAW members will directly vote for our union’s International Executive Board (IEB).
Here’s when you should expect to receive your ballot, and how to ensure your vote is counted.
When Will I Receive My Ballot?
Ballots were mailed on or around Friday, August 21. It should arrive at your mailing address on file (envelope pictured). Your ballot should take at most 5 business days to reach you via First Class Mail.
Don’t delay! Return your ballot immediately by mail.
What If I Don’t Receive a Ballot?
If you do not receive a ballot by Thursday, September 3, request a replacement by calling the election vendor’s hotline at 855-433-8683. The hotline will be open Monday - Friday from 8 am - 8 pm ET, and Saturday 8 am - 4 pm ET.
At this point, calling the hotline is the most reliable way to update the address where you will receive your ballot. However, you should still update your address and contact information with your local for the future.
The final date you can request a replacement ballot by calling the hotline is September 23.
What Will My Ballot Look Like?
All sample ballots for the current elections can be found on the Monitor’s Election site here (top of ballot pictured). Ballots include different Regional Director choices depending on your UAW Region.
Your ballot will include instructions on how to complete it. Some key instructions:
If you make a mistake, do not cross it out. Instead, you should request a new ballot (see instructions above).
Fill in the entire oval using a black or blue pen when selecting your choices.
Remember to place your ballot in the secret ballot sleeve before placing it in the return envelope and mailing it.
When Does My Ballot Need to Be Returned?
Return your ballot as soon as possible in the provided return envelope (pictured).
The last recommended date to place your ballot in the mail is Friday, September 25. However, personal emergencies, mistakes when filling in your ballot, and mail delays do happen! Complete and mail your ballot as soon as you receive it to ensure your vote is counted.
