UAW Election Vote Count this Week
As of today, all ballots have been received to be counted for the 2026 UAW International Executive Board elections. The vote count starts tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6, in Rosemont, IL.
The count is expected to take place throughout the week in the following order: Region 9A, Region 9, Region 2B, Region 4, Region 1, Region 1A, Region 1D, Region 8, Region 6, and At Large Ballots (though the exact order may change). In the previous election, it was typical for two or three regions to be counted per day.
As ballots from each UAW local are tabulated, results will be available to volunteers at the count site. Observers with the United UAW slate will be regularly posting unofficial results here throughout the week. Follow along and cheer on the United UAW slate with us!
How Will Eligibility be determined?
As they arrived, ballots were scanned and their eligibility determined against the member list. Ballots will likely be pre-challenged if they were addressed to someone suspected to be ineligible (e.g. not a member in good standing or deceased) or if duplicate ballots arrived from the same member. Ballots that are pre-challenged will be set aside for further review to determine their eligibility if they would affect the result of any race.
How are unclear ballots Resolved?
Each candidate or slate is allowed to observe the count, along with UAW members who volunteer as their observers. As ballots are processed and counted, the candidates and their observers have the right to challenge ballots where the voter’s choices are not marked clearly. These tend to be a very small number of ballots. An experienced member of the election administration team will consider the challenge and rule on it.
Detailed vote count rules can be found on the UAW Monitor’s site.
