Last Chance to Pass Convention Amendments and Resolutions
Monday, May 4th, is the deadline for locals to send amendments and resolutions to be considered at the 39th UAW Constitutional Convention June 15th-18th. This means your local’s April membership meeting is likely your last opportunity to vote on priorities you’d like to see instituted.
In order to be considered at the convention, amendments and resolutions must be passed by a majority vote at your local membership meeting. They will then be added to the packet that delegates receive and may be brought to the convention floor by the Resolutions Committee or Amendment Committee in advance, or a vote of delegates during the convention itself. Learn more about how topics are brought before the convention here.
Some key measures for strengthening our union’s democracy and continuing to win contracts that raise standards for our members and our industries are:
Protecting Our Vote for International Executive Board [Download]
Extending Retiree Membership to Non-Pensioners [Download]
Fighting for Retirement Security Union-Wide in 2028 and Beyond [Download]
You can download a PDF of all these proposals here. The more locals that pass these measures, the more likely they are to make it onto the convention floor.
