UAW Members Elect Shawn Fain And Entire United UAW Slate

Results for the 2026 UAW Election have been tallied throughout this week. Shawn Fain and the United UAW slate won across the board!

Fain won a supermajority of the vote in all but one region, and the other United UAW candidates also won decisive victories. You can see the unofficial results here, updated by the slate’s volunteers at the count. The results have not yet been certified, and challenged ballots set aside while eligibility was resolved remain to be counted. But the margins are too large for those ballots to realistically change the outcome.

“The members chose Fain, despite the Monitor’s best efforts to create turbulence, because we’re ready to fight for retirement health care and protection from A.I. layoffs in 2028. Our work now is to keep helping members step up as leaders in a union that’s ready to fight.”

— Gary Chynoweth, Vice Chair of UAW Member Action

These results show that UAW members are ready to keep fighting for ambitious demands and grow our union through aggressive organizing. But the companies have never given up easily, and they sure aren’t going to start now.

We’re keeping this network strong beyond this election to prepare for our next negotiations and all the battles to come. Join a network in the UAW that’s educating, mobilizing, and helping more members step up as leaders.
